Hi, and welcome to my blog! I’m Brittany.

Why Scars & Eyelashes? It was a line from something I wrote during a most difficult time in my life and it stuck in my mind. It was meant to apply to my beautiful child, but in truth, it can apply to any of us. Certainly to me.

This is my little corner of the internet to share some of my observations and reflections on the path my feet have been placed on, which is a path uncommon in the best and worst ways. Perhaps you are here because you’ve read about my journey as a bereaved mother to my son, Beckett. Maybe you are a parent who has lost a child too. Or it could be that you just saw something of mine shared elsewhere and thought I string together pretty words. No matter what reason brought you here, I am glad to share what I can with you.

I’m here to talk about loss. Life before, through, and after it. About how good the world is and how cruel it can be too. To consider the unimaginable and the intangible. More than anything, I write about love.
